Rein, Tamara Meyerovna
(b. 1915 Village of Gusevka, Saratov guberniya – d. 2000 Moscow)
Painter and graphic artist
1931–1933 – Studied at the graphic art department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, where she was taught by K. Istomin, N. Kupreyanov and M. Rodionov.
1933–1938 – Studied at the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts (MIII) and the Moscow State Academic Institute of Art (MGAKhI), which later changed its name to the Surikov State Institute of Art of Moscow (MGKhI), where she was taught by V. Favorsky, A. Goncharov and A. Gusyatinsky.
1945 – Joined the Artists Union and began to show her works at exhibitions.
1940s – Worked at the Monumental Painting Studio of the Soviet Academy of Architecture.
2000 – A collection of memoirs by former students of the MIII and MGKhI was published that was entitled “Artist, Life and the Great Turning-Point (Vkhutemas-Vkhutein-Polygraphic Institute-MIII: Memoirs of Survivors)” and put together by Tamara Rein.
