Dobuzhinsky, B. Kustodiev, A. Ostroumova-Lebedeva, Ye. Lansere. Took part in exhibitions beginning in 1904. Rather, he collected only that which served to meet his work-related needs at the present time, only the works of those artists who interested him at the given moment.<\/p>\n And so, for many years my father dreamt of obtaining a lithographic impression of Serov\u2019s portrait of Leonid Andreyev. Was worried about the result, could not sleep. He impatiently flipped through a monograph on Serov in which this very rare lithograph could be found. When he finally saw this magnificent page with his own eyes, he was overjoyed. He even seemed to have gotten somewhat younger, and came up with the following topic for a short story:<\/p>\n \u201cSome author ought to write about an eccentric man who has spent half a lifetime in search of a work of art which is supposed to make him young and strong again. The man overcomes tremendous difficulties, fails time and time again, and goes from hope to despair.
