{"id":528,"date":"2010-05-07T21:44:27","date_gmt":"2010-05-07T18:44:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.balaschov.ru\/?page_id=528"},"modified":"2012-03-12T20:09:31","modified_gmt":"2012-03-12T17:09:31","slug":"shultz","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/arteology.ru\/en\/artists\/shultz\/","title":{"rendered":"Arseny Schultz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Arseny Leonidovich Schultz<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(1910, Tallin \u2013 1976, Moscow)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Painter and graphic artist<\/p>\n<p>Was born on December 23, <span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1910<\/span> in the city Tallin<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1924<\/span> created his first paintings and works of graphic art<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1925<\/span> visited Kadrovsky\u2019s studio in Moscow<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1926<\/span> enrolled in geodetics courses in Moscow<\/p>\n<p>Beginning in <span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1928<\/span> worked as an artist for book and magazine publishers<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1929<\/span> on June 20 the Khamovniki District section of the Moscow Governorate Department of Public Education presented him certification that he had passed courses in geodetics<\/p>\n<p>In that same year he began attending classes at the VKhUTEIN Rabfak (Workers\u2019 Faculty) of the Arts.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1932<\/span> married Adele Pavlovna Shik on March 1<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1933<\/span> enrolled in the Moscow Architectural Institute<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1937<\/span> on July 3 graduated from the institute \u201cwith an architect\u2019s qualification,\u201d and, at this same time, began research work in the field of new print graphics technologies<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1941<\/span> was drafted for military service, worked as an artist at the magazines <em>Ogonyok<\/em>, <em>Krasnoarmeets <\/em>and <em>Krasnoflotets<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1942<\/span> was afflicted with severe typhus from March through April<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1942 \u2013 1943<\/span> served in the military and worked in Yoshkar-Ola at the print shop for the newspaper <em>Sniper<\/em> as typesetter and layout artist<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1944<\/span> in October was discharged to the reserves and at this time began working in Project Management at the USSR Academy of the Sciences headed by A. V. Shchusev<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1945<\/span> on September 12 joined the Moscow Section of the Union of Soviet Artists; beginning in this year worked extensively a book artist for the publisher Detgiz.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1946<\/span> on January 10 applied for an author\u2019s certificate for his work \u201cMeans of Manually Printing Engravings or Similar Images Using Dry Ink with Thermal Application of the Imprint,\u201d author\u2019s certificate No. 73813 dd. January 1949<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1946<\/span> took part in an exhibition of the works by artists that participated in World War II, held in the MOSSKh exhibition hall<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1947<\/span> on December 15 applied for an author\u2019s certificate to be issued for the \u201cDevice for Casting Type Slugs from Contone Matrices Using a Linotype with Application of a Photographic Element.\u201d On February 3, 1948 he received certificate No. 373016 on exclusive rights to the Patent from the Directorate of the Committee on Inventions and Discoveries under the Council of Ministers of the USSR.<\/p>\n<p>In this same year he took part in an exhibition of graphic arts (color engraving on linoleum) at the Russian Museum where he displayed a portrait of Lev Tolstoy<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1948<\/span> was arrested on August 8 on the basis of Articles 17-58-8; 58-10; and 58-11. He was held in the MGB (Ministry for State Security) prison and was tried by a special council under the MGB on May 14, 1949.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f67474;\">1956<\/span> was released on January 4 according to the resolution of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR dd.
